Sport in Marburg
Marburg is proud of her Basketballteam, the BC Marburg, they are part of the German Basketball League, the girls from the Skwosch-Frösche Marburg join them on tournaments.
Marburg is famous for its American Football team, the Mercenaries.
The most successful sport team in Marburg is the VfB Marburg (until 04/05 Hessian first league). The Tennisclub of Marburg is represented in the Hessian league.
The Gymwheel Association TSV Marburg-Ockershausen is proud to present twelve German Champion Titles and nine World Championship Titles, making them one of the most famous Gymwheel Associations at all.
The Softballteam of the University achieved the second place in 2004 during the College-Series, a respectable achievement!
The Hessian Aviation Associatian 1909 e.V. (KVfL) is one of the oldest Aviation Centres in Germany, with more than 300 members practicing Model flights, Motor flights, Gliding and Hot Air Balloon flights they are well represented in thr region. The World Champion in gliding, Werner Meuser, is a member of the Association.
Marburg has since 2003 in Cölbe-Bernsdorf a Golf course managed by the Hessian Golf-Club Marburg e.V.
