The central library of the university is the University Library.  Together with more than 50 other institutional libraries it forms the official Library- and Information System of the  Philipps-Universität Marburg.

The history of the library starts with the history of the university, back in 1527.  Today the cebtral library can easily be found next to the Department of Philosophy.  It homes around 1,9 million pieces of literature.

The library has ca. 100 members of staff.  For general information you can turn to the information desk at the entrance.  For special queries please turn to one of our experts.
