The hostels close to the castle (Landgrafen castle) are particularly popular among students, because of the central location and the fairy tale gardens surrounding the domiciles, as well as the ancient city wall along the gardens. The famous Bettina tower is situated on the premises. Named after Bettina von Armin, you can find an exhibition about her in the temple of love (Liebestempelchen) also situated on the premises.

It is advisable to apply early should you wish to live in one of the hostels close to the castle, as rooms here are popular and always on demand. Hostels close to the castle are: Bettina-Haus, Dr.-Carl-Duisberg-Haus, Forsthof, Konrad-Biesalski-Haus for the handicapped, or 13 Ritterstraße  for couples and families.
