Service package for foreign students
Do you find it hard to start your studies in a foreign country? Nothing is quite clear and you just can't get the hang of things? You're right! To help you jump start your studies in Marburg, we, together with the Foreign students Unit of the university, offer you a special service package during the first six months of your studies.
This package includes:
Housing:
A single room in one of the hostels , including heating, electricity and water.
Catering:
from Monday to Friday a lunch or dinner in the canteen about three months.
The semester fee:
allows you to make use of the services of the Student Council.(price reduced housing, catering, insurance, counselling etc), must be paid by all students
The student body fee:
finances the institutions representing your needs(AStA, etc) and must be paid by all students as well.
The semester ticket:
for making use of public transport (trains, busses, subways, regional trains, trams) in the tranport network of the "Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund".
Orientation for foreign students:
Orientation program in the beginning of each semester, a tutor-program during the semester, organised by the International Student Affairs Department of the university.
This package costs 1700,00 €
and is valid for six months, as from the 1st of October (Winter semester) or the 1st of April (Summer semester), alternatively from the 1st of September or the 1st of March.
A deposit of 150€ - 170 € must be paid additionally.
This service package is a comfortable solution. Yet even if you do not make use of the package, you are still welcome in Marburg

You can send your application by post, your application must reach us at least one month before you begin the program.
